The continued Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has made it necessary to prepare and plan for a variety of outcomes. Sussex County election officials are taking a lead to ensure successful primary elections here in New Jersey.
While there is continued discussion on conducting New Jersey’s July 7 primaries entirely by mail, if the state sees new cases of the virus on the decline the governor may determine it is safe for New Jersey to open polling places to voters in July, while still offering the option to cast a mail-in ballot. If the manner of voting is optional, County Clerk Jeff Parrott encourages those voters who are at risk, or who may be concerned about visiting populated places, to apply now for a Vote By Mail ballot for the July 7 Primary Election.
You can download an application from our website or call our office at 973-579-0900 and request that a Vote By Mail application be mailed to you. Your application must be received by our office no later than June 30th in order for us to mail your ballot.
It is our goal that the democratic process continue uninterrupted and that all voters, no matter their situation, have an opportunity to cast a ballot.
