Candidate order for the Nov. 2nd General Election is in!
Beginning at 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 9th, the County Clerk’s Office conducted an official ballot draw to determine candidate order for the upcoming Nov. 2, 2021 General Election. Find Results Here.
Ballot positions to be drawn Aug 9 at 3 p.m.
An official drawing to determine ballot position for races on this November’s general election will be conducted at the County Clerk’s Office August 9th at 3 p.m.
Because County Clerk Jeff Parrott is running for office this year and his name is on the ballot, Deputy Clerk Angela Rosa will be conducting the draw in his place.
The draw will first determine which of the two major parties will appear in first position on the ballot, and then will determine order among candidates in specific races.
Once available, the result of the drawings will be posted to the Clerk’s website under “Who’s On the Ballot.”

View list of school board candidates who successfully filed a petition with the County Clerk. The deadline to file a petition to run as a school board candidate in the upcoming Nov. 2, 2021 general election was 4 p.m. July 26.
Nat’l Passport Center experiencing major delays
The Department of State has advised that the routine turnaround for a passport application to be processed by the National Passport Center is currently up to 18 weeks. Expedited service is available for an additional $60; the processing time for expedited service is currently up to 12 weeks.
If you’re thinking about traveling outside the U.S. please plan accordingly. Visit travel.state.gov for processing time updates.
The Sussex County Clerk’s Office is a passport acceptance agency for the U.S. Department of State. Citizens may apply at the Clerk’s Office in Newton for a United States Passport Book or Passport Card.
Clerk’s ROAM site to experience temporary interruption in service
This notice is to advise that the Clerk’s ROAM site will experience a temporary interruption in its land records search platform.
