Notary Oaths will be administered beginning May 18 by appointment

4/30/2020:  In response to the COVID19 pandemic, the Sussex County Clerk’s Office remains closed to the public. However, beginning Monday, May 18, we will begin administering oaths to notaries whose terms are approaching  expiration. These oaths will be done by appointment only. Please call our office at 973-579-0900, ext. 1501 to schedule an appointment. When appearing for your appointment, you should arrive at the designated time and must wear a mask and gloves. It is also advised that you bring your own pen for the signing of documents. Notary oath services will be scheduled as long as it is considered safe to do so. If your appointment has to be rescheduled or cancelled you will be notified by our office.

Attention Notaries!

If your notary public certificate is nearing expiration or just recently expired, and you are unable to be sworn in due to County Clerk closures statewide, please note that the State of New Jersey has notified us that there is pending legislation to address this matter. No details are available yet, but we will update this post as soon as information becomes available.
